Named after the late Jerry Herring–former elder of the New York Avenue Church of Christ, the Herring Christian Secondary School was built to provide advance education from a Christian worldview. After passing national exams at Chimala Mission Primary School, many of these children continue their education at HCSS. Here they continue having daily morning Bible devotionals and advanced Bible Knowledge classes. All boarding students both primary and secondary are required to attend Sunday Bible class and worship as well as Wednesday Bible class.
